Medli - Ocarina of Time style

A present I made for 's birthday in 2004.
It's older than the latest fanarts I've put on the gallery but I wanted it to be close to the one I made for her next birthday because of their common subject.

Slan (or Shari, the nickname under which I've always known her) has been a good friend for many years and owns the best tLoZ italian website and forum. She founded the only online community I frequented for years, sometimes intensely. Probably the only one which made me know some of its users in real life and to really become friends with a handful of them. I'll be posting in this gallery various drawings related to some of them and to the site.
So... hooray for Shari R'Vek! B)

I chose Medli as she is her favourite character in The Wind Waker, and redesigned her in the style of Ocarina of Time because of my interest in swapping the different styles of those games.
Unfortunately, her face seems to be the only part that holds up well to date, while the rest has lots of problems.
The anatomy was a real mess so I modified it with Photoshop, now its flaws are less noticeable.
A bad consequence of all the imitations of tWW style I did in that period? Maybe, maybe...
You'll see other realistic attempts of that time that were similarly unconsciuosly influenced by the body proportions of tWW characters and I'm not sure I'll always be able to adjust them a little with my digital skills.


Anyway, I love the design and colors of Medli. As the ones of the Rito in general.
