My entry for the History of Hyrule calendar contest and a tribute for the ten years of The Wind Waker.

I chose my favourite part of the Legend of Zelda mythos and probably the most tragic of all: the very end of Hyrule.
The vain struggles for survival of the kingdom against Ganondorf, the Goddesses act of the flooding and the exodus that lead to the civilizations of the Great Sea.
The best way to describe this image could be quoting Daphnes Nohansen Hyrule himself:

Once, long ago, this land of Hyrule was turned into a world of shadows by Ganon who sought to obtain the power of the Gods for his evil ends. My power alone could not stop the fiend, and our only choice was to leave the fate of the kingdom in the hands of the Gods...

sorry but, the adult timeline kinda sucked! Wind Walker was good but the other games on that timeline (Spirt tracks and Phantom hourglass) wheren't that good, I tried to beat Phantom Hourglass and after the 3rd or 4th time of returning to the ocean temple I gave up on it.

Ehr, sorry for what, precisely? This fanart isn't related to those games or to the entire "adult timeline" but only The Wind Waker, so... what? =P
I partially agreed with you: I pretty much disliked it too, but only art and story-wise. As sequels of The Wind Waker the DS games had a very poor scenario. Despite some good ideas they were terribly disappointing to me on that regard.
But I absolutely loved their gameplay -despite some big design flaws: I'm referring especially to the overworld exploration- and that was more than enough for me to enthusiastically play through them until completion.

Wonderful artwork. Could really be taken right of an illustrated book which contains legends or Hyrule's history

Hi! How did you make this? It's the best I've ever seen. I want to get into digital art but I don't know where to begin. If you don't mind, could you tell me what program you used, and what tools or peripherals I would need to buy to make something with strokes like this?

The lines were made with traditional media: I used ink. As for the rest, Photoshop.
